Gears Grinding

This is where I usually stop, somewhere around day 5-10, when it starts to feel performative, silly, and pointless.

Sent out an invoice, now gearing up to do some writing, which I’m not accustomed to doing before 09:30. I’ve already spent some time distracting myself.

Who Dis

So, the fundamental thing I need to do is to really internalise and focus on the fact that he and I are diffrerent people. This character is not a coward, he is not an escape artist, he is not an avoider, he is not lazy, he is not characterologically afraid. I am all of those things, and characters who behave that way are boring. Unless you are an absolutely masterful writer.

So the guy is basically Marlowe, sort of. Marlowe in the future.
