Had a bit of a slump last night in my feeling about this one. I’m only halfway through the first chapter and where I was once convinced that I had the style down and the story was good, I’m now certain that it’s worthless bullshit. Worse, it feels mediocre, like someone trying to be Chandler and kinda getting it but also kinda not.

Naturally, having read it over again and seen where I’m going wrong, it’s actually fine.

Whatever. Breakfast time and cacao is steeping. Even if I turn out to be a shitty writer, at least I have that stuff to make me feel good about it.
